Star Wars 9+1 New TV Shows and a Movie
The force is strong with Disney+
The announcement that all of us, lovers of the universe created 43 years ago by George Lucas, were waiting for, has arrived.
A little more than a year after its arrival on the market, Disney+ has practically already reached complete maturity and is preparing to amaze again.
Nine TV Series and a Movie are coming to the Disney platform!
Let’s dive together in an overview of what’s to come!
Lando
Donald Glover will return as Lando Calrissian in what could be a sequel / spin-off to the movie Solo.
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor together again in this series dedicated to the master of the two most important Skywalkers of that “galaxy far far away…” is it possible to imagine anything bigger?
Rangers of the New Republic
We know very little about this TV series but some rumors suggest it will be dedicated to Cara Dune, one of the characters present in The Mandalorian, with the role of a “galactic sheriff”.
Ahsoka
Anakin Skywalker’s padawan has more than deserved a dedicated TV series and Rosario Dawson has shown that she can take on the role. We just have to wait to know if this chapter will deal with the events preceding or following Ashoka’s first meeting with Din Djarin in The Mandalorian.
Andor
Apart from the fact that the protagonist of this TV series will again be Diego Luna as the galactic pilot Cassian Andor, we know very little about the plot of Andor but if nothing else, we can show you the first short trailer released by Disney.
The Acolyte
The darkest and most mysterious series among those announced. It will be set in the final years of the High Republic, namely two hundred years before The Phantom Menace – Episode I. The first and only information leaked is that events will intertwine around the emergence of some kind of dark power; we do not know anything else yet.
The Bad Batch
Clone Force 99, also known as “The Bad Batch” will arrive on Disney+ on May 4th. The TV series should be placed immediately after the events of Clone Wars and will tell the story of this special unit of renegade clones with no longer a Republic to protect.
A Droid Story and Star Wars Visions
The first one will be a succession of episodes all dedicated to our droid friends while Star Wars Visions would seem to be a series of anime-style anthology short movies.
Rogue Squadron
To top it off, a new movie titled Star Wars: Rogue Squadron has also been announced. Cinematic work obviously dedicated to the pilots of the iconic X-Wings who, according to director Patty Jenkins:
“It will create something original and at the same time be heavily influenced by the novels, comics and videogames of the saga.”
The Book of Boba Fett
On the sands of Tatooine, bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand sail into the underworld of the Galaxy and fight for the old territory of Jabba the Hutt.
