Let’s start by saying that according to Jason Schreier of Kotaku, this Spider-Man will be a whole new chapter and not an expansion of the previous one.

Despite having greatly appreciated the previous Spider-Man of Insomniac Games, even considering it one of the milestones of the previous generation, we have the impression that this new chapter could be a “more of the same“, with a character, in our opinion, much less charismatic than our friendly neighborhood Spider-man.

But who is Miles Morales?

Miles Morales first appeared in Ultimate Fallout #4 (August 2011), following the death of Peter Parker. An Afro-Latino teenager, he is the second Spider-Man to appear in Ultimate Marvel, an imprint with a separate continuity from the mainstream Marvel Universe. He was featured in the Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man comic book series, and after Marvel ended the Ultimate imprint in 2015, Miles was made a character in the main Marvel Universe, beginning with stories under the All-New, All-Different Marvel branding that debuted that same year.

Morales was the first African-American to wear the superhero costume and the second from Hispanic origins after Miguel O’Hara, protagonist of the Spider-Man 2099 series.
